Ay. Lanta Lanta.
Yesterday, we waved goodbye to our beloved jungle bungalow and set sail on the Ao Nang Princess to Koh Lanta.
A pretty uneventful journey until some poor boy decided to vomit over a few peoples luggage. Too much chang last night maybe?
The views over the Andaman Sea were amazing. 2.5 hours of turquoise waters.
We eventually found our bungalow after a slight miscommunication. The room is warmer than it is outside and the fan appears to just circulate warm air. We escaped the sauna and headed to the adjacent beach, Klong Dao, for a dip in the sea instead.
A sunset, a massaman curry and bed.
Day 2 on Koh Lanta. Up at the crack of dawn. Maybe we’re not on Thai time yet?! We headed to the 7-11 in search of breakfast. Char sui steamed dumplings? Yes please.
We then rented Maureen moped. A bit slow and struggled on a few inclines but she got us around the island in one piece. We did manage to get lost but eventually found our way to Koh Lanta National Park. A hefty entrance fee but when you see the beach it’s definitely worth it.
We hesitantly left our bag on the beach and had a dip in the sea. There’s stories of thieving monkeys and picnics.
A giant schitzel sandwich later and we are basking in the shade nursing some sunburn and mozzie bites.
